My journey to becoming a captain was deeply influenced by my family's maritime heritage and my profound love for the sea. This passion eventually led me to pursue a career in yachting, where I could combine my love for ships with my desire to provide unparalleled experiences for guests.

Have you worked in various roles like deckhand, bosun, chief officer, and relief captain before becoming a captain, and how does that experience contribute to your understanding of your crew today?
Aboard Vivere, I can fill the roles of a chef, a sailor, etc. Having navigated the waters and managed crews on large ships across the ocean, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my role as captain of gulet Vivere. It allows me to lead my crew effectively and ensure the smooth operation of the boat.
Can you provide an example of a challenging situation you've faced as a Captain and how you resolved it?
Navigating the Adriatic poses challenges like technical breakdowns and adverse weather. Despite thorough preparation, unforeseen circumstances may arise. In these moments, my experience guides me in prioritizing guest safety and comfort. Whether navigating storms or addressing technical issues, we're dedicated to ensuring a seamless journey.
Can you discuss your knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in yachting?
We are deeply committed to environmental sustainability. We adhere to strict waste disposal protocols and comply with international conventions and local laws to minimize our ecological footprint. Over the years, we've received diverse guest requests, from extravagant to unconventional. While we aim to accommodate all requests, some prove unrealistic or impossible. In such cases, we communicate openly, explaining any limitations. Despite challenges, we've successfully fulfilled the majority of requests.
How do you incorporate local culture and traditions into the yacht charter experience, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the Croatian lifestyle?
Immersing our guests in the rich culture and traditions of Croatia is a cornerstone of the gulet Vivere experience. Our dedicated team, knowledgeable in the local history and customs, goes above and beyond to showcase the authentic beauty of the region. What is, in your opinion, the most challenging aspect of working in the yachting industry?
In my experience, the most challenging aspect of working in the yachting industry is the unwavering dedication to guest satisfaction. Ensuring that every guest has a memorable and unforgettable experience, so they will return and even recommend us to their friends. However, the joy of seeing our guests happy and satisfied makes every challenge worthwhile, motivating us to continually strive for excellence.
How do you ensure the safety of passengers and crew on board?
The safety and well-being of our guests and crew are our top priority. We adhere to stringent safety standards set forth by the Croatian Register of Shipping (CRS), ensuring that our equipment is complete and compliant with legal regulations. Each year, our equipment undergoes thorough inspection by both the CRS and our insurance company to maintain the highest safety standards.
How do you handle emergencies or adverse weather conditions at sea?
Constant weather forecast monitoring allows us to anticipate any changes and prepare accordingly. Drawing from my experience and expertise, I monitor atmospheric changes visually, ensuring timely preparation for sudden weather shifts, such as storms. Our crew is extensively trained to handle extraordinary situations, equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests and crew members.
How are crew members picked?
The selection of our crew members undergoes a meticulous process, guided by careful consideration and evaluation. We prioritize individuals who demonstrate professionalism, competence, and a steadfast commitment to excellence in service. Notably, our crew has remained the same for three consecutive seasons, ensuring continuity and expertise aboard our vessel.
How do you handle disputes or conflicts among crew members or passengers?
Fortunately, conflicts or disputes among crew members or passengers never happened aboard gulet Vivere. However, should such situations arise, they would be addressed promptly and professionally.
Do you have any other passions/hobbies besides yachting, and what are they?
Beyond yachting, I have a diverse range of passions and hobbies that enrich my life outside of work. From painting and sculpting to exploring the outdoors on my motorcycle, I find joy and fulfillment in various creative and recreational pursuits.
What do you do off-season?
During the off-season, I prioritize spending quality time with my family, cherishing moments of relaxation and exploration together. Additionally, I dedicate time to maintaining and improving the gulet throughout the season, ensuring that it remains in pristine condition.
